Top Oriental Rug Cleaning Studio in Bensonhurst, NY

Rugcraft Oriental Cleaning is the leading hand-knotted rug specialist in the New York metro area delivering expert care for Oriental, Persian, hand-knotted, and antique area rugs for more than eleven years in Bensonhurst, NY and throughout the New York metropolitan area.

Oriental and Persian rugs are fundamentally different from standard carpet and machine-made rugs — they are among the most valuable portable objects many homeowners own, both in terms of market value and personal significance. Using standard carpet cleaning methods on hand-knotted rugs can destroy value that cannot be recovered: irreversible color changes, structural damage to the foundation, and loss of pile integrity are all real risks when the unique construction of these pieces is not understood or respected by the cleaning method applied.

Their trained rug care technicians are trained in the specific washing, drying, and finishing techniques required for different rug constructions, fiber types, and dye systems. Every piece is processed according to its specific construction and condition — with no two rugs treated identically.

Their service area covers from throughout the New York metro area and provides professional rug pick-up and return delivery for collectors and homeowners who want a completely hands-off experience from start to finish. Their comprehensive cleaning program involves documentation at intake, expert hand-washing with fiber-matched solutions, carefully controlled drying, and a final inspection before return to the client.

Beyond cleaning, the studio offers full restoration work including fringe repair, patching, and structural stabilization for rugs whose condition goes beyond what any cleaning process can correct. The studio serves the full range of rug owners from individual homeowners to estate professionals and serious collectors.

Founder Farid Mousavi contributes a lifetime of textile immersion spanning three generations of his family's rug expertise — giving every rug that enters Rugcraft the benefit of interpretive expertise that no training course can replicate.
