Best Plaster Wall and Ceiling Specialists in Adams, MA

Novaplast Plaster Repair is a dedicated historic plaster repair and restoration specialist with a decade of expertise in traditional plaster repair and historic surface restoration in historic homes, period architecture, and traditional residential properties.

The extraordinary concentration of historic residential properties spanning three centuries of American architectural history creates a consistent demand for qualified tradespeople who know how to work with traditional plaster systems that the original architects and builders expected the surfaces to receive throughout their useful life. The company was founded to fill exactly this gap — expertise and craftsmanship that is genuinely rare in today's construction market.

Three-coat plaster systems is a multi-coat system applied over a lath substrate — requiring specific knowledge to repair correctly without compromising the structural integrity or acoustic and thermal properties of the original installation. The Novaplast team are experienced in both traditional and modern repair materials and methods — so historic plaster can be matched invisibly.

The company evaluates the full condition of plaster surfaces before recommending repairs using the traditional sounding method to find every area where plaster has separated from its support structure — catching delamination before it becomes a collapse hazard.

Targeted repair work on specific localized failures as well as whole-surface skim coat application to restore uniformly deteriorated plaster to a smooth, paintable finish are both services the company provides. Restoration of ornamental plaster details — including medallions, cornices, and molded trim details — is handled working with cast replicas or hand-formed repairs matching the method to the profile being restored.

Adams, MA residents with period architecture rely on Novaplast to maintain the historic integrity and original character of their plaster work rather than accepting the drywall replacement that general contractors routinely recommend.
