Trusted Roof Moss and Algae Removal Company in Chatom, AL

The dark streaks, green moss patches, and lichen growth seen on homes are not just a visual issue. The cause is a living organism — specifically a cyanobacteria that feeds on roofing material — consuming shingle components and degrades the roof surface. Over time without treatment, this growth significantly reduces how long your roof lasts while dramatically affecting curb appeal.

In Chatom, AL and surrounding areas, our team at Clenrova uses the low-pressure soft wash method recommended by roofing manufacturers to safely and effectively eliminate all biological growth without the risk of granule loss or shingle damage.

Why Soft Washing Works Better Than Pressure Washing

Power washing a roof removes protective granules and forces water under shingles — those tiny particles that protect the underlying mat. The result is accelerated roof wear and can void the manufacturer warranty on the roofing material.

Clenrova's ARMA-recommended soft wash process produces results that outlast high-pressure cleaning because the biological organisms are killed rather than displaced — preventing rapid regrowth.

Roof Types Clenrova Treats

Clenrova treats all roof types — asphalt shingles, metal roofing, tile, cedar shake, and flat membrane systems — applying the right chemistry and pressure level for each type. For Chatom, AL homeowners, this means a cleaning service designed for the type of roof you have rather than applying one approach to everything.

Post-Cleaning Protection and Preventive Treatment

Once the roof is clean, our team applies post-cleaning inhibitor treatments that slow and prevent new growth for one to two years, giving homeowners a longer window before retreatment is required.

Every cleaning service also includes a visual roof inspection — identifying any issues with shingles, flashing, or gutters worth monitoring or repairing soon.
